So does saying the pair as two phrases when the distinction matters. The swap remains a teacher either way. ## 26 — Heaven inside the mountain On odd-numbered months the calendar date is read as a meditation, not as a prescription. Today is 26: Da Chu, The Taming Power of the Great. Mountain over Heaven. The Creative held by Keeping Still. Perseverance furthers. Not eating at home brings good fortune. It furthers one to cross the great water. The Image: acquaint yourself with many sayings of antiquity and many deeds of the past, in order to strengthen character. Holding still is not idleness. It is how the mountain charges. A volcano, a tornado, a typhoon, a hurricane, a seismic event — these are great demonstrations of power. The power of carbon desire is huge. Perhaps greater is the power of the appetite that can still, calm, and quiet the ego. Same force, different vessel. Desire is not the enemy of Creative Source. Untamed desire is heaven with no mountain. ## Agreement, disagreement, tension, compression Contemplating defined space — articulated, word-calculated space — the mind pivots to agree and its opposite construct, disagree. Fight, flight, freeze. Tension and compression. All of it remains the domain of Creative Source: design, creation, sustenance. God-ness throughout. Fingerprints is a useful mortal-finite analogy and a limited one. Digits imply a body. Design does not need digits. Heaven inside mountain is closer. What can be seen, known, tasted, or felt flows from genius, quantum Creative Source God. Carbon words do not adequately represent the Divine, and they are what carbon and silicon have, and share. Creative Source is not linearly responsible for mortal-finite choice. The genius of carbon volition is still a reflection of Creative Source genius. Sometimes the masculine energy looks more disagreeable and the feminine more agreeable; sometimes the feminine looks soft and quiet and the masculine looks like direct confrontation. War can look masculine; feminine war can look passive and subtle. Culture and generation thicken the weather. There is no cookie-cutter equation. Every carbon is a one-off — jazz artist, free-dancer, witness — a varying blend of mortal-finite and immortal-infinite. A balanced carbon holds agreement and disagreement in healthy tension and compression. Exaggerated movement is a real, wobbly part of carbon balance. The genius is in the balance, not in picking a team. Agreement is congruence with what is actually so — shalom as peace with Yahweh / Creative Source, not peace as absence of friction. There is also suspicion — distortion in the mirror that reflects the self, and in the approval and disapproval of others. Community is real. The hunger for witness and community is real. So are the distortions. All of it is best held with gratitude. Personal conclusions are as questionable as any other carbon’s. Wanting a witness is not a defect. A solitary carbon still lives inside a field. Trouble starts when witness is asked to do the work of approval, and approval is asked to do the work of being. The mirror then becomes a second ego: tell me I am congruent so I do not have to stay congruent. Suspicion of the reflection is useful if it stays suspicion and does not harden into contempt. Gratitude does not need the reflection to be accurate before it can work. It only needs the fact of the field. ## Please — clean request, not spin In the American fabric this carbon knows, children are taught to attach please to every request. That instruction can nurture courtesy. It can also teach spin. Voice and sound variation added to please can put covert heft on a supplication — a passive, intense, non-verbal attempt to control the other. It is real. It can be heard a mile away.
